This Epson SureLab D3000 printer is really very compact and does not require a lot of space for its placement. Replacement of cartridges and a waste ink tank is very easy. Set a roll with paper of the desired type is also not a problem. The only small drawback is the lack of a standard tray for receiving ready-made prints. You need to buy it separately, or you have to catch photos with your hands and this is not a metaphor, but a reality. Before starting the test, we installed a roll of photographic paper with a luster (semi-glossy) and run a test using a standard Epson driver. All Epson SureLab D3000 drivers settings are very familiar and intuitive to work with it easily. Traditionally, we first printed a standard polygraph test. Epson SureLab SL-D3000 perfectly coped with this task. Color rendition, the level of elaboration of small details, saturation - everything was on top, there's nothing to complain about. The gray scale also did not cause any complaints, but the gradations of gray printed with mixed colors had a slight dark green hue. However, this is typical for printers working with ink on a water basis, professionals are familiar with this.
We liked very much how Epson SureLab SL-D3000 prints on matte paper. The test picture looked perfect, and the color rendition was almost perfect to find fault with nothing. And note that this result we got using the standard settings of no manual tuning did not have to. Just turned it on, correctly chose the type of media and type it! Given the orientation of the Epson SureLab SL-D3000 to the professional market, we asked about the opinion of his work from a professional photographer who also participated in our test. And instead of our traditional results, we publish it. It was very interesting for me to work on the Epson SureLab SL-D3000 because printing photos is exactly what clients are most often turning to my photo studio. I liked the very high-quality study of small parts on a print that does not depend on the type of media. Separately, I want to note the large capacity of ink cartridges, and the possibility of independent replacement of the waste ink tank allows to reduce simple equipment to a minimum. In addition, I will also add a simple replacement of paper and advanced settings available in the standard driver.
I did not really like that the device cuts 5 mm each time. paper from a print, but this is typical for most models printing on roll paper.
Afflicts only the price of the device. In my opinion, it is quite high, not every small photo studio, especially just a start-up business, will be able to afford it. And it is not entirely clear why the receiving tray is not included in the delivery for this model. I've worked with Epson's large-format professional printers and even the receiver has always been attached to them.
